“I ENJOY INCORPORATING ITEMS FOUND IN NATURE.”
Christine has been exploring all types of arts and crafts since childhood, taken formal art classes in drawing, painting, and sculpting, and learning from books, on-line sources, and from peers. She enjoys incorporating items found in nature, such as sand dollars, shells, pearls, sea glass, stones, crystals, drift wood and more in her jewelry and sculpted pieces.
She has entered her work in local fairs and received first and second place ribbons. In March, 2021 she was featured in the Press Democrat in the Sonoma Towns section.
Process:
To paint on sand dollars, Christine uses watercolors, covered by a protective coating to add a durable layer of protection.
Polymer clay, which is used both in her jewelry and sculptures, requires low-temperatire firing and comes in a wide variety of colors. She often adds found objects from nature in her creations and experiments with a variety of techniques, including wire wrapping.
