Hat In Hand was begun in 1996 when, after working with fiber most of their lives, sisters Drin Welker and Carol Culp, discovered an affinity for felt! "We began with felting hats and soon branched out to baby shoes, sculptured animals, purses, garments and accessories. We also create a number of hand knitted items including unique and warm dog sweaters."

"But hats are the mainstay of our inventory and we create a hat that is both attractive and functional. The felting process makes them warm as well as waterproof and they can be packed in a suitcase, a pocket or backpack and they pop right back in to shape, ready to wear. We have traveled the world vicariously via the hats on our customers' heads!"
